Swedish Swedbank has expanded its home insurance coverage for customers in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to include damage caused by war, military action, armed political conflict, terrorist acts, mass unrest, and uprisings.
This is stated on the credit organization’s website—under the “new” label. The coverage also applies to damage caused by drone strikes. By “war,” Swedbank means an armed conflict between two or more sovereign states.
But the extended home insurance does not cover and does not compensate for damage caused by a war between two or more countries belonging to the world’s five superpowers: the US, China, France, UK, and Russia.
The consequences of the use of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, as well as cyber and online attacks, are not covered as well. The new conditions came into force on August 6. Initially, Swedbank offers additional protection to all customers in the Baltic countries for a period of six months.
