US President Donald Trump has posted a photo of himself playing hockey with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and calling him “governor.”

In the photo posted on Truth Social, Carney is sitting on the ice, and Trump—standing beside him—says: “Get up, governor.” By doing so, he insinuates that the Canadian prime minister is actually the head of an American state.

Earlier, the American president had repeatedly stated that Canada should become the 51st US state. Moreover, he expressed the opinion that many Canadians are in favor of their country joining the US in this status. But Carney, as well as previous Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, had stated that Canada will never become part of the US in any capacity.
