YEREVAN.- The Communist Party of Armenia has not recognized the results of the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia, it said in a statement.

“The party got not 16,000 votes but several times more,” the statement reads. Communists claim the political forces were using different mechanisms, giving empty promises and bribes. Others voted under pressure and threat of being fired.

“Taking into account the mentioned facts and that the parliamentary election do not reflect the real political situation in the country, the Communist Party of Armenia does not recognize the results of May 6 parliamentary elections,” the message reads.

The Communist Party polled about 1.1% of votes, twice as much as during the 2007 elections.
