During their meeting in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will discuss the possible holding of a referendum in Armenia, as well as the selection of the country’s development direction, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

“During the meeting with Pashinyan [on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit last week] in Bishkek [the capital of Kyrgyzstan,] specific matters related to trade and economic cooperation were noted. An agreement was reached that Pashinyan will pay a visit to Moscow. The [two] heads of state will discuss the main topic: the choice of Armenia’s development direction, orientation, and holding a [respective] referendum,” Peskov said.

He added that the exact dates of the Armenian premier’s visit to the Russian capital will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
