The co-chairs of the state commission for economic, trade, and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister  Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh, had a telephone conversation, the cabinet of ministers of Azerbaijan reports.

The parties discussed the implementation of the matters reflected on in the memorandum of understanding concluded at the aforesaid commission’s 17th meeting in Baku in February 2026.

The successful cooperation in trade and economic, transport and transit, energy, water and other sectors was noted, and the dynamics of project implementation were discussed.

In the transport sector, the completion of the construction of the Aghbend-Kelala automobile bridge was particularly emphasized. The necessary funds for the completion of work at the cargo terminal in Astara were also discussed.
