The European Union (EU) is interested in strengthening cooperation with Armenia. Chief spokesperson for the European Commission of the EU, Paula Pinho, stated this in response to the question of how realistic the assessment is that by 2029 Armenian citizens will be able to travel to EU countries without a visa.

It is obvious that the EU is engaged in the process and is discussing a number of matters with Armenia on how they can establish closer cooperation. Perhaps it is too early to talk about when the visa liberalization can take place. It is still too early to talk about specific details, but they can confirm that discussions are underway in a number of directions, and as soon as these topics mature, the EU will move to the next phase of closer partnership with Armenia, added the chief spokesperson for the European Commission.
