Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation Tuesday, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, TASS reports.

"Another telephone conversation was held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump," Ushakov said. According to him, the interlocutors focused on the Ukrainian settlement. Putin and Trump discussed the results of the recent visits by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kiev.

The parties positively assessed the work in this regard and agreed to continue it. During the conversation, Putin presented Trump with an "objective and detailed analysis" of what was happening in the zone of special military operations. In turn, the US president stated that he was interested in achieving a breakthrough in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict during his presidency.

In turn Putin assured Trump that Russia “does not even have in mind” aggressive plans for Europe. The Russian president positively assessed the US mediation efforts in finding ways to resolve the conflict.Separately, Putin noted the efforts of US First Lady Melania Trump in returning Russian and Ukrainian children to their families.

According to Ushakov, the conversation took place in a positive atmosphere. Putin and Trump agreed to stay in touch and, if necessary, to promptly hold new telephone talks.
