Work at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) is also scheduled for 2027, its director general Eduard Martirosyan told reporters on Wednesday.

He explained that due to this, just a 55-day shutdown of the ANPP is planned for next year.

“We have completed the construction of a new substation with an open distribution system,” Martirosyan noted, adding that several other work is also being carried out in cooperation with Russia.

The director general of the ANPP stressed that the launch of data processing centers in Armenia in the coming years will change the amount of electricity consumption in the country.

“As of today, a solar power plant with a capacity of about 1,200 megawatts has been launched, which also has an impact on the energy system [in Armenia]. Moreover, the nuclear power plant is a basic infrastructure,” added Eduard Martirosyan.
