Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to sue Haaretz daily for libel.

The reason is a report in the newspaper that the UAE leader personally had warned Netanyahu about a Hamas attack being planned shortly before the attack on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli prime minister instructed his lawyers to file a libel lawsuit against Haaretz, Netanyahu’s office said in a statement on X.

Also, the office called the daily’s aforesaid report a lie, and noted that there was no conversation between Netanyahu and the UAE president between early September 2023 and October 7, 2023.

Netanyahu’s office added that the aforesaid Haaretz report was part of a "sinister plot with clear political timing, as part of the left's election campaign," warning that there would be "more such false plots."
