US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s chief of staff of is in Poland, where he is holding talks with the Polish side on the possible location of a permanent US military base, RMF24 reports, citing Polish Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka.
According to her, US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas DiNanno is also in Poland. As part of studying possible locations for permanent US military facilities in Poland, he will visit a number of facilities in the country on Thursday.
Sobkowiak-Czarnecka noted that respective options in western Poland were also being considered at this phase. She emphasized that the next 48 hours will be crucial for Polish-American negotiations on this matter.
