ABOVYAN. – The iron deposit in Abovyan carries out intensive drilling works, environmental activist Vahe Vardumyan informed Ekolur.

According to hydro-geologist Ruben Zadoyan, exploitation of Abovyan deposit presents a great danger as ore is deposited under the ground water and may deteriorate drinking water of the surroundings.

To note, Chinese Fortune Oil is authorized to exploit the deposit. It is expected that there is 255 million tons of campanile, out of which 84 million is damaged. The mine may be run for 10 years.
