A meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron took place at the Elysee Palace in Paris. Before the meeting, a welcoming ceremony for the Armenian premier was held, the PM’s office informs.
Emmanuel Macron thanked the prime minister for accepting the invitation to participate in the first International Space Summit in Paris. The French president attached importance to the continued development of bilateral relations between Armenia and France in all directions, in line with the bilateral declaration of strategic cooperation.
In turn, Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked for the invitation and warm hospitality, and underscored the deepening of Armenia’s cooperation with France in the space sector, too. He noted that Armenia is interested in more substantive partnership in this direction.
The interlocutors emphasized that economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of strategic partnership between the two countries. In this context, the parties emphasized the taking of consistent measures by the government of Armenia towards diversification in the economic sector.
Also, it was noted with satisfaction that the construction of the Bargushat tunnel in Armenia has entered a substantive phase. In this regard, the importance of starting construction work as soon as possible was emphasized.
Regional processes were also touched upon. In this regard, the importance of consistent implementation of measures aimed at strengthening peace was stressed.
