The lawsuit against Huawei in the US is linked to the policy of putting pressure on Chinese companies. Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated this at a press briefing Thursday, responding to a question about the investigation launched in New York against the Chinese corporation Huawei.

“The Chinese government firmly opposes the US side's suppression and containment of Chinese enterprises, and firmly supports Chinese enterprises in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests,” said the Chinese MFA spokesperson.

The trial against Huawei began Wednesday in a federal court in New York. During the trial, the prosecution called the Chinese company a “criminal enterprise” that allegedly stole developments from American companies.
