YEREVAN. – The leader of Armenia’s Republic Party, former PM Aram Sargsyan decided to leave opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) as he does not agree with ANC’s decision to consolidate with Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), political scientist Yervand Bozoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The decision of Aram Sargsyan is not new, as several months ago he already had announced that he would not go into parliament. He kept his promise,” the political scientist said.

Yervand Bozoyan connects Republic Party’s decision to leave ANC with the failure of the joint election monitoring headquarter which was formatted by ANC, PAP and ARF.

“Here the issue is not even who got how much votes. The main goal of the structure was to prevent frauds during elections, but it achieved nothing more than a fiasco. The process of decomposition which is taking place in ANC is partially connected with this and it is quite normal,” Bozoyan mentioned.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, on Friday the Republic Party left the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC). The leader of the Party Aram Sargsyan had announced about declining his parliamentary mandate earlier.
