A new power transmission line is planned to be established between Azerbaijan and Turkey via the “Zangezur Corridor,” Azerbaijani energy minister Parviz Shahbazov said, Azerbaijani media report.
According to him, the East-West power transmission line established by Azerbaijan and Turkey thanks to oil and natural gas projects is planned to be expanded through power transmission lines and green energy corridors. The goal is to supply the green energy of the Caspian Sea and Central Asia to Europe via Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Shahbazov added that this approach includes connecting Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave to the unified power system of mainland Azerbaijan via the “Zangezur Corridor.”
