The unblocking of regional transport routes will have a positive impact. Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Martin Galstyan, on Wednesday stated this during the "Sketching the Architecture of Change" conference organized by APRI Armenia, at a panel discussion titled " Armenia’s Economic Resilience in an Era of Geopolitical Uncertainties".

At the same time, however, Galstyan noted that at the moment it is difficult to assess exactly what this impact will be, since it is necessary to take into account the form and content of the unblocking, the course of the processes, the degree of Armenia’s integration into the unified transport network, the amount of goods being transported through Armenia, as well as what the country will produce and import.

According to Galstyan, at the moment there is little information on this.

“However, I think that life with open borders will be much more positive for Armenia’s economy than under closed conditions. There is no need to be afraid of open borders. It's the same as not reading books for fear that new knowledge might be harmful," the CBA chief added.
