Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday had a working dinner with members of the US Chamber of Commerce, in New York, the PM’s office informs.

First, US Chamber of Commerce vice president Khush Choksy thanked the premier for being hosted and noted that the members of the Chamber represent various sectors of the US economy. He added that the purpose of the meeting is to get familiarized with the developments taking place in the economic sphere, investment opportunities, and the business environment in Armenia.

In turn, Prime Minister Pashinyan touched upon the Armenia-US trade and economic relations, and noted that significant developments have already taken place in this regard as a result of the documents signed during the meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington on August 8 last year. The Armenian leader noted, in particular, the establishment of two large artificial intelligence factories in Armenia. Also, the premier expressed a conviction that Armenia-US relations will continue to develop and strengthen in various other directions.

In his remarks, the prime minister touched also upon the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the developments taking place in the region as a result, and the emerging opportunities. In particular, Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the implementation of the TRIPP project aimed at unblocking regional communication routes.

In addition, he presented the developments taking place in various sectors of the economy in Armenia, the existing opportunities, and the reforms and programs being implemented by the government to consistently improve the business environment in Armenia.

Subsequently, the prime minister of Armenia answered questions of interest to the businesspersons in attendance.

And as a result of this meeting, the launch of the Armenia-US Business Council was announced.
