YEREVAN. – ‘Need of Public Information and knowledge’ and ‘Women’s resources center’ NGOs which had organized a Diversity Parade in Yerevan made a statement on Monday demanding that the police find and punish those who organized attacks on the parade participants.

As it is stressed in the statement, the Diversity Parade aimed to direct attention towards the cultural, ethnic, religious and natural diversities in Armenia, but some extremists spread false information about the Diversity Parade to be a gay parade. Because of this misinformation, extremists organized attacks at the participants of the parade. 

“We consider that actions had taken place, which should be punished by law. We demand law enforcement forces to find the guilty ones and to punish them,” the statement reads.
