During a news conference, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who is attending the Chicago NATO Summit, gave details from his meeting with France’s newly-elect President, François Hollande.

The President of Turkey noted that Hollande likewise had expressed discontentment over the insufficient level of Turkish-French relations.

Gul proposed Holland to turn a new blank page in Turkish-French ties, and asked about the reasons for France’s tough attitude toward Turkey.

“What problems do you have? What interest and discord do you have with Turkey?”, Gul had asked, and stressed that Hollande had responded by saying there was no such thing, Radikal daily of Turkey informs.,

It was noted earlier that the Armenian Genocide issue was not discussed during the Hollande-Gul meeting.

But during his election campaign François Hollande had stated he will see to it that a bill criminalizing the denial of genocides—including the Armenian Genocide—would ultimately become a law in France.
