A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg in the central Moabit district of the German capital Berlin, directly in front of a police station. According to preliminary theory, the incident is most likely related to the escalation of conflict between rival Turkish gangs, German media report.

As per Der Spiegel, the shooting occurred at night. The shooting victim was with a group of people on the sidewalk when a bullet hit his leg. The man was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery.

A conflict between Turkish groups that had broken out the previous evening in front of a cafe-bar in Berlin could be a possible reason for these shootings, Die Welt reports.

According to its information, several dozen people, allegedly affiliated with Turkish groups, participated in the clash. At least one person received serious stab wounds during the conflict.

The circumstances of these shootings and the possible link between the aforesaid two incidents are currently being ascertained.
