Rosatom is working with Armenia on the Nairit project—to eliminate the legacy of the Nairit plant, which produces synthetic rubber. Alexey Likhachev, director general of Russian state corporation Rosatom, announced this during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We are working with Armenian partners on the Nairit project, I hope we will also be able to provide assistance,” Likhachev said, TASS reports. In addition, as Likhachev noted, work continues on the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.

“Armenia cannot be put aside, because we are extending the plant’s operating life. The leadership there will decide which way to go, but we are present there,” said the Rosatom director general.
