A conference on the right of return and decolonization was held at the UN headquarters in New York, organized by the Baku Initiative Group.

One of the topics of discussion was the return of “Western Azerbaijanis” to their former places of residence, in present-day Armenia, Azerbaijani media report.

Following the event, the Baku Initiative Group and the conference participants adopted an appeal addressed to the UN special rapporteurs. The document calls for facilitating the creation of conditions for the return of people associated with “Western Azerbaijan,” as well as ensuring the protection of Azerbaijani heritage in Armenia.

At the end of the event, the conference participants held a silent protest.
