A portrait exhibition of Armenian soldiers who died during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War was held at the Maryam-e Moghaddas (Blessed Virgin Mary) subway station in Tehran, the capital of Iran, reports the First Middle East Telegram channel.

The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of those members of the Armenian community in Iran who participated in this war and died on the front.

There is a tradition in Iran to visit the families of Christian soldiers who died during the Iran-Iraq War every year. High-ranking state representatives, including the country's Supreme Leader, make such visits ahead of Christmas.

The Maryam-e Moghaddas subway station was named in honor of the Armenian community of Iran and has become one of the symbols of its historical presence in Tehran.
