Since the reimposition of the naval blockade of Iran, the US Navy has redirected 125 merchant ships in connection with that country that were heading to or leaving from Iranian ports, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in the Middle East said.
In the past seven days alone, the US military has redirected 10 merchant ships.
On July 14, the US Navy resumed its naval blockade of ships heading to or leaving from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
The previous naval blockade was in effect from April 13 to June 18. During that time, CENTCOM forces redirected 142 ships subject to the blockade, decommissioned nine ships that were not complying, and allowed more than 50 commercial ships carrying humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade zone.
