The victim is receiving necessary and proper medical assistance at a Yerevan medical center, her hemodynamics are normal, her condition is stable, there is no life-threatening risk. Armenian health minister's spokesperson Mariam Tsatryan on Friday told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am, referring to the shooting of an Armenian woman in the leg by an Azerbaijani soldier in Shaki village of Armenia’s Syunik Province on Thursday.
“As for [her] children, the girl received psychological support, her condition is satisfactory, the boy had a minor wrist fracture, he received treatment, his condition is satisfactory,” Tsatryan added.
Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that an incident occurred Thursday in Shaki village of the Sisian enlarged community of Armenia’s Syunik Province. Residents of Sisian said that according to their information, an Azerbaijani had crossed the border for four to five days, but they have not been able to find him. And a Shaki woman was shot in the leg Thursday under yet unknown circumstances.
And the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia on Thursday issued a statement in this regard and noted that the State Security Service of Azerbaijan on Tuesday had informed the NSS that a serviceman of an Azerbaijani military unit had left his place of military service under unknown circumstances.
It was not ruled out that he could have illegally crossed the border of Armenia.
After that, the respective authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan carried out search operations.
An at 14:15 on Thursday, 112 emergency hotline of Armenia received a call that an Armenian citizen had been shot in the leg in Shaki village of Syunik Province.
Armenian police teams had left for the scene.
Measures have been taken to investigate the incident.
It turned out that this crime was committed by the aforesaid Azerbaijani serviceman, who has been arrested.
The details of this incident have been submitted to the Azerbaijani side, too.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings in connection with this incident.
