The US has pre-selected the location of its permanent military base in Poland, Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk told RMF FM radio.

“We are considering two locations: in the Lower Silesian and the Greater Poland Voivodeships. The final decision will be made together with the Americans,” Tomczyk added.

He noted, however, that the final decision on the establishment of this US military base will be made by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

On June 3, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz had submitted a proposal to US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to set up a new permanent US military base in Poland. The cost of building this facility, designed for 5,000 soldiers, could exceed 10 billion zlotys (about $2.7 billion).
