A meeting of the Council of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia was held Monday. It was chaired by NA speaker Ruben Rubinyan.

The drafts on making amendments to the agenda of the second session of the ninth convocation of the NA and the agenda of the regular sessions to be convened Tuesday were discussed and approved, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The sequence of discussion of the agenda items of the next NA sessions was also determined. The draft agenda of these sessions will have two matters. In particular, the matter of determining the number of members of the NA Inquiry Committee “investigating the crisis that has arisen within the [Armenian Apostolic Holy] Church as a result of the activities of certain clergy members, as well as the issues regarding the failure of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church to fulfill its exceptional mission concerning the spiritual life of the Armenian people, the development of national culture, and the preservation of national identity,” and the matter of making an amendment to the law “On Holidays and Memorial Days of the Republic of Armenia” are on the agenda.

Also, the NA Council approved the composition of the friendship groups of the ninth convocation NA and the latter’s delegations to interparliamentary committees.
