Armenian Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was received by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Tehran on Monday. The meeting emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as an important component of Armenia-Iran political dialogue, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of relations between Armenia and Iran based on mutual trust and friendship. It was emphasized that relations between the two neighboring countries are strategic, and consistent and open dialogue is an important guarantee of their development. Ararat Mirzoyan and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf touched upon the current cooperation programs between the two countries in various fields.
Also, the active work aimed at developing infrastructure connecting Armenia and Iran and ensuring the smooth flow of cargo transportation was underscored. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the prospects for the development of the railway network as a result of the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project, which will provide new opportunities for all countries in the region.
The interlocutors exchanged views also on further promoting cooperation and transport connectivity as an important factor contributing to the strengthening of peace and the well-being of peoples.
