The report on the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church touched on very serious and very important issues. But I am most interested in two episodes: the cases of sexual abuse of a minor, and self-mutilation. Have criminal cases been initiated in connection with these episodes?

Are our law enforcement agencies currently trying to follow the traces of these cases, investigate and present [them] to the public, and give them a criminal-legal assessment? Ruling faction MP Ruzanna Yeremyan asked this question to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly of Armenia.

In response, Pashinyan said: "I honestly can't say whether a criminal case has been opened or not. But I know that our law enforcement agencies are investigating the report, and I am confident that in all cases where there will be an opportunity to open a criminal case, they will do that."
