Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The Ministry of Economy proposes to make an amendment and an addendum to the government's decision No. 468-L dated April 9, 2026 "On approving the program of subsidizing interest rates on loans being provided to the agri-food sector."

As of August 31, 24,729 unit of loans worth about 44.04 billion drams had been provided within the framework of the program of subsidizing interest rates on loans being provided to the agri-food sector [of Armenia]. Due to the results of the program's operation period, there was a need to change the timeframe of its implementation. In particular, instead of the years 2026-2027 specified in the program, it is proposed to implement it only in 2026.

At the same time, in order to clarify the timeframe of the program, it has become necessary to also set the deadline for concluding a loan agreement between the financial institution and the beneficiary. For this purpose, the draft proposes to establish that the loan agreement between the financial institution and the beneficiary must be concluded by December 30, 2026 inclusive.

Thus, the draft proposes to set the implementation timeframe for the program as 2026. At the same time, the timeframe for concluding a loan agreement between the financial institution and the beneficiary is clarified, setting it by December 30, 2026 inclusive. It is noted that the policy in the agricultural sector [of Armenia] is aimed at intensification, increasing the resilience of food systems, and developing digital agriculture.

The adoption of the amendment being proposed in the draft does not envisage changes in revenues or expenditures in the 2026 state budget.
