Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, questions have arisen regarding the ban on entry to the Russian Federation of CC [i.e. the ruling majority “Civil Contract”] faction MP Lusine Badalyan [of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia].
Let us note that yesterday, chair of the NA standing committee on healthcare affairs, Lusine Badalyan, announced that she was supposed to leave for Saint Petersburg to participate in the session of the Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, but the Russian side banned her from entering the country.
According to Badalyan, she was informed that her entry to the Russian Federation was prohibited, but the reason for this was not explained. It turns out that the RA National Assembly MP, who was leaving to participate in an official event, was stopped at the border without giving her, at least publicly, an understandable explanation.
Zhoghovurd daily's sources in the [Armenian] authorities report that Badalyan's ban is linked to her anti-Russian statements.
And what made Lusine Badalyan stand out with her statements related to Russia? The thing is that the CC MP previously proposed to stop broadcasting Russian television channels in Armenia, claiming that their content is anti-Armenian and threatens Armenia's security. In addition, Russian media outlets have reflected on Badalyan's criticisms regarding statements made by Russia.
The chair of the NA standing committee on healthcare affairs recently had touched also upon border sanitary security, noting that Armenia is preparing for all scenarios of the possible spread of the plague from Russia.
