UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres strongly supports the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and hopes that its implementation will proceed very quickly in all directions.

Guterres on Thursday stated this at a press conference in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, responding to a question about Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan. This is only one of the directions, and there are other directions, he added.

Also, Guterres noted that very much hopes that the process will proceed at an accelerated pace so that the peace agreement is completed and all remaining issues are resolved.

They call for the implementation of all aspects of the peace agreement as soon as possible, which includes the issue of prisoners, the UN Secretary General added.
