According to internet claims, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has fallen into a coma after suffering a brain hemorrhage and has been rushed to a hospital in China, reports The Sun.
These claims have been circulating on social media ever since Kim has stopped appearing in public. He was last seen touring a defense museum at an undisclosed location in Pyongyang on October 11.
According to online speculation, Kim was taken to the Peking Union Medical College in Beijing where he underwent emergency treatment.
It is said he was taken out of North Korea due to the poor medical facilities in Pyongyang.
There has been no official confirmation of this information yet.
The Sun recalls that in 2020, a flurry of similar social media rumors claimed Kim had died after he disappeared from the public eye for several months.
Earlier this month, reports shed light on Kim’s lavish diet of steak and lobster which has left him “extremely obese,” according to South Korean spies.
The North Korean supreme leader weighs more than 310lb (140kg) at just 5ft 7ins, putting him at serious risk of cardiovascular disease, according to South Korea‘s National Intelligence Service.
His heavy smoking and body mass have raised serious questions about who would succeed him if he were to die.
