Exports of alcoholic beverages from Armenia may decrease by 50% in case of termination of the country’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This is evidenced by a report on the possible consequences of the EAEU Treaty’s termination for Armenia, prepared by representatives of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
“Forecast of economic consequences for the Republic of Armenia... As for the traditional export products of the Republic of Armenia, a decline in exports is predicted in the range of 30-31% (light industry products, timber and wood products) to 50% (alcoholic beverages),” states the report, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti.
