Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan is not aware that an Azerbaijani shepherd has crossed the border of Armenia. Mirzoyan stated this in parliament, speaking to reporters Wednesday.
Mirzoyan was presenting in the National Assembly the draft on ratification of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Armenia and the US on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project, since the morning.
The report about an Azerbaijani shepherd crossing the border into Armenia was disseminated by the media, but it has not yet been officially confirmed.
Also, Mirzoyan touched upon the incident involving an Azerbaijani soldier who had crossed into Armenia. According to the official version, this soldier had deserted his military unit, gotten lost, ended up Armenia, broken into a family’s house in Shaki village, threatened the children, and inflicted serious bodily injuries on their mother.
The Armenian foreign minister said that if in the case of those who had strayed, one can talk about returning them to their homeland, then in this case the situation is completely different.
"A crime has occurred, which completely changes the picture," Mirzoyan noted, adding that all procedures stipulated by Armenian legislation must be followed in this case.
