Weapons and ammunition will not be transported through the TRIPP project. Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Mirzoyan stated this while answering questions from MPs at Wednesday’s meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia.
The meeting was discussing the draft on ratification of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Armenia and the US on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project. According to Mirzoyan, there is a list of cargo that will not be able to transit through TRIPP. “These lists are already known in many countries.
We have a mutual understanding also with Azerbaijan that prohibited items—for example, weapons or ammunition, hazardous chemical cargo, etc.—simply cannot be transported,” added the Armenian foreign minister.
At the same time, it will be necessary to apply in advance for permission to transport certain groups of products through TRIPP.
