Yemeni Houthis have claimed to have struck the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense (MoD) building in Riyadh, the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, the Abha International Airport in Abha, as well as a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu, El Balad reports.
The movement said in a statement that four military operations had been carried out in the past 48 hours using ballistic missiles and drones. The Houthi’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said all four attacks had achieved their objectives. He said the strike on the King Fahd International Airport disrupted air traffic and a fire broke out at a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu.
There is no independent confirmation of the reported results of the attacks. In turn, the spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, reported the interception and destruction of four drones in the airspace of the Riyadh and Medina. The Saudi authorities have not yet confirmed the Houthis' statements about the destruction of the Saudi MoD building.
