The task of uprooting the four-headed party of war has been fulfilled with the local government elections on August 25. But as I have previously had occasion to say, when you solve one problem, two or three new problems emerge. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday stated this during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, referring to the newly emerged problems.

“We solved one problem with yesterday's elections, three new problems have emerged. The first is: how to do it so that the numbers of the election results do not give the impression of authoritarianism and dictatorship [in Armenia]. The second: how to do it so that an objective mechanism of public oversight operates in communities that have received high trust. The third problem: how to do it so that that a state-centered, young, intellectual, objective, honest opposition is formed in Armenia, governed and guided only by its own voters and citizens. These are issues that we need to think about,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Pashinyan congratulated the elected candidates and members of the local councils of elders, wishing them success. Also, he congratulated Armenia for exercising their right.

“If there was an obstacle to free expression anywhere, I have said my opinion on it, expressed my positions. All the letters—a few, not a large number that I have received—have been processed accordingly, and, of course, I will be consistent in their regard until the logical conclusion, which is the following: the finding out and clarification of the truth,” said the premier of Armenia.
