Rosatom plans to increase the number of its construction workers at Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant to about 200 in November, said the director general of this Russian state corporation, Alexey Likhachev, TASS reports.

According to him, during the height of the military conflict, the number of Russian workers at the construction site of this nuclear plant had decreased from about 700 to just around 20. But Rosatom specialists did not abandon the plant even during the most difficult days.

Currently, about 125 construction workers are working at this nuclear power plant. Another 40 are engaged in maintenance and initial operation. Next month, the corporation expects to increase the number of construction workers to 200.

Likhachev added, however, that the plans may change in the event of a new escalation of the military situation.

According to him, Rosatom is preparing for such a development of events, but for now it is guided by an optimistic scenario.
