We have stated to all international partners, as well as during negotiations with Azerbaijan, that we are not going to discuss with any external entity any matter related to our constitution. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session, with the government, in the National Assembly of Armenia.

"I get the impression that such statements are made to destabilize the domestic political situation in Armenia, as they feed the opposition's agenda. At the official level, they [i.e. Azerbaijan] tell us that they are not raising the issue of the constitution, but we are stating that this is our perception of the matter," Pashinyan added.

Referring to the fact that the matter of adopting Armenia's new constitution is included in the Armenian government's program, he assured that the authorities will consistently follow that path. "We tell Azerbaijan: the constitution is our internal affair, and we are going to discuss it exclusively with the people of Armenia.

The text of the [new] constitution will be publicized in the near future, and discussions will begin. We clearly tell Azerbaijan that we are not going to discuss the matter of the constitution with them, and it is unacceptable for us that they are somehow speculating and feeding our opposition," the Armenian premier said.
