Yerevan's Blue Mosque has been and will remain Armenian-Iranian. Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, told this to reporters on Friday. Shirgholami explained that the Blue Mosque is one of the samples of Armenian-Iranian cultural heritage.

"The Iranian architectural style is clearly visible in every centimeter of the mosque. It is clearly visible that the mosque is Iranian. The Blue Mosque, located in beautiful Yerevan, best demonstrates the coexistence of Islamic and Armenian Christian cultures in one territory.

The mosque was built during the reign of Hussein Ali Khan, who played a significant role in the development of Armenian-Iranian cultural cooperation," the Iranian diplomat noted.
