Pension provision will be one of the largest areas of expenditure in Armenia’s state budget for 2027, according to the draft budget for next year.
Spending on pensions is projected at around 674 billion drams, approximately 60 billion drams more than the 613.8 billion drams allocated for defense. Under the draft budget, the Ministry of Defense will receive a total of 616.5 billion drams, of which 613.8 billion drams will fund the programme “Maintaining Combat Readiness to Ensure the Strategic Deployment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Protect State Borders Against External Adversaries.”
More than 1 billion drams from the Ministry of Defense’s budget will also be allocated to military medical care and medical services.
