YEREVAN. – Armenia likewise is celebrating World Environment Day 2012 on Tuesday.  

And in this connection, the Nature Protection Ministry presented awards to National Academy of Sciences Botanical Institute Director Zhirayr Vardanyan, Environment Protection Convention’s national coordinator Aram Gabrielyan, and the Ministry’s “Hydrogeological Monitoring Center” NGO Acting Director Khachatur Gharagyozyan, the Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

Also, environmentalist Karine Danielyan’s book on Lake Sevan was officially presented.

In addition, results were announced of the children’s chalk painting competition. A total of twenty children took part in the contest, which was entitled “Nature in the Eyes of Children,” and three of them received the Nature Protection Minister’s honor certificates while the others took home prizes
