73-year-old Edna Sue Pate from Indiana, United States, gambled away the money saved for her grandson’s college education. The gambler granny lost $ 97,000.

She had taken the money illegally from a trust fund. As Associated Press reports, the elderly woman had taken the money and used them from 2004 to 2007. The account had been opened on her grandchild Christian Smith’s name. She had permission to the fund but no right to use them.

Currently Pate is being searched in Indiana. A few days ago she has been seen in Louisiana but the police did not arrest her. The problem is that Louisiana gives perpetrators only to neighbor states but Indiana is not a neighbor to Louisiana. Authorities assume that Pate might never return home to escape punishment.
