YEREVAN. - Armenia will install mandatory medical insurance during the next five years, head of the Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan said at a press conference on Thursday

The program will be installed gradually. First, state agencies will be involved, later on the private sector. Babloyan stated that it will not become an additional financial burden for citizens as the insurance will cover over 70 percent of medical expenses.

He also stated that medical services got expensive all the time, while without installing the insurance they will be simply unaffordable for citizens.
