YEREVAN. – A VAZ 21010 driven by Armenian MOD officer, Lieutenant Artyom Melkonyan, 26, went off road, at the Yerevan-Yeraskhavan Highway, and subsequently tipped over and went into the roadside field, on Monday at around 8am, MOD Investigation Department Public Relations Senior Officer Meri Sargsyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.             

As a result, the driver and his passenger, Captain Arsen Minasyan, 29, sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.

According to preliminary data, the accident occurred because the driver attempted to circumvent a cow which was passing from in front of the vehicle. 

The Military Police is preparing a report on the incident, Meri Sargsyan also informed.
