YEREVAN. – None of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) members got the impression of the recent speech of the ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan to support the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) nominee in the upcoming presidential elections, ANC group secretary Aram Manukyan said at a press conference on Monday.

“I have no intentions to ponder on such theoretical issues. I believe them to be not proper,” he said adding it is still early to speak about a joint opposition presidential nominee.

Regarding cooperation with other political powers of the Parliament, Manukyan said that the ANC has no close relations with the PAP and ARF Dashnaktsutyun. However, coincidence of viewpoints in the Parliament is not ruled out. Moreover, if the current situation is maintained till the presidential elections next year, new groupings will emerge. The opposition’s task is to lure MPs from the ruling parties.
