Participants of the meeting of the action group in Geneva could achieve a cessation of a conflict in the country, if they press on the government and the opposition, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said.

According to Ban Ki-moon, Syrian government and other parties to the conflict should hear the international community’s calls to cooperate with the special envoy Kofi Annan, to stop violence and fulfill conditions to settle the situation, Vglyad reports.

Ki-moon said the Syrians cannot stand violence, sufferings and chaos any more.
