Armenia is ranked 69th in the Global Innovation Index 2012, annual rankings issued by the Business School for the World together with World Intellectual Property Organization.

Moldova (50) has the highest position among CIS states and is followed by Russia (51).

Neighboring Georgia is ranked 71st, Azerbaijan shares 89-90 places and Turkey – 73-75.

For the second year running, Switzerland, Sweden, and Singapore lead in overall innovation performance. The report ranks 141 countries/economies on the basis of their innovation capabilities and results.

The study shows that the dynamics of innovation continue to be affected by the emergence of new successful innovators, as well as the good performances of emerging countries, among which is Armenia.
