YEREVAN. – Chairman Sergey Naryshkin of the State Duma of the Russian Federation will arrive in Armenia in the latter half of July. But unlike Russia’s Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko, he will spend the night and stay for two days in Armenia: on the 23rd and the 24th, Hraparak daily writes.  

“This visit to the region by the former chief of staff of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s ‘dynasty’ is conditioned not solely on the current developments—where a serious vector role is reserved for Armenia—, but also on maintaining parity. To note, Naryshkin had visited Azerbaijan on July 7.    

Incidentally, the series of visits by Russian emissaries will continue. The visits by governors are anticipated, too. And on September 7, according to preliminary announcement, Vladimir Putin himself will arrive in Armenia. 

He will come to Armenia to ‘participate’ in the CSTO military exercises, and, if we consider that Uzbekistan recently withdrew from the CSTO, Vladimir Putin will not lose the most opportune moment to raise the organization’s influence,” Hraparak writes.
